by Francis Pelenah Jr,

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah hosted his administration’s first Cabinet Meeting at the Parlors of the Executive Mansion on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.

The Thursday March 3, 2022 meeting presided over by the President had one agenda item, the European Union’s new development model for Liberia.

Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie told ELBC that the meeting was intended to allow the Cabinet derive strategies that would align with the EU’s model, particularly the implementation of the next tranche of EU development aid to Liberia.

President Weah convened the meeting to allow his Cabinet have full appreciation of the EU aid package and to brainstorm on how the government could make maximum use of the EU’s development roadmap for Liberia.

Meanwhile, a Special Cabinet ‘Think Tank’ is expected to be constituted to derive means by which government engages the EU on its five-year development model.

The President moved his office from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Executive Mansion, the official seat and home of the Liberian Presidency, last month.
