Liberian Embassy in Germany says all Liberian Students are out of Ukraine

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Minister Counselor for Press and Public Affairs at the Liberian Embassy in Germany has revealed that all Liberian students are out finally out of Ukraine.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, Augustine Hameiberg said:” Out of the fifty-seven students tracked by the Embassy, thirty-four of them have fled to Germany. Others are in Poland, Hungary and Romania, while some have returned to Liberia.”

He explained that the Liberian Embassy in Germany has been receptive to Liberians who sought refuge in Germany, due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War.

He further revealed that the German Government has created temporary shelters, and granted the students a year of temporary stay.

Mr. Hameiberg also noted that Ambassador Youngor Telewoda will hold talks with the German Foreign Office by next week, aimed at lobbying for extra package for the students.
