MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Patriotic Party (NPP) has threatened to expel Roland Duo and his associates for appointing an interim leadership of the party.
NPP Secretary General Andrew Peters told ELBC on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, that Mr. Duo lacks the authority to make any decision in the party.
Mr. Peters said:” The Mediation Committee named by Mr. Duo to probe the internal wrangling in the NPP does not exist in its leadership structure.”
The NPP has also termed Mr. Duo as an imposter whose l attest action has the propensity to brew conflict in the party.
The NPP Secretary General further disclosed plans by the Party’s Leadership to meet on this Wednesday, March 16, 2022, to expel and prevent Mr. Duo and his accomplices from going to the Party’s premises.
He clarified that the NPP’s Leadership remains committed to running the Party’s affairs, assuring that a convention will be held, once the matter before the National Elections Commission (NEC) is concluded.
Early on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, the National Mediation Committee of the NPP requested the Standard Bearer, Jewel Howard-Taylor, to endorse the appointment of an interim leadership.
The group’s Head, Roland Duo, told a news conference that their decision followed series of internal wrangling that have prevented the Party’s Seventh Biennial Convention.
He said:” The NPP has initiated series of mediation efforts to meet with partisans from across the Country, in an attempt to reconcile differences but to no avail.”
Mr. Duo described the setting up of an interim leadership as the best option to move the Party forward.
He urged partisans and the public to accord the interim leadership fullest support and cooperation, while in the discharge of its mandate.
