MONROVIA, LIBERIA -The Plenary of the House of Representatives has cited Education Minister, Ansu Sonii, over what it calls appalling learning environment within the education sector.
The House’s decision taken during the 19th day sitting , followed a communication from Nimba County District-Five Representative Dorwohn Gleekia.
Representative Gleekia wants Minister Sonii address growing concerns about the appalling conditions, particularly in Liberia.
He named some of the issues as inadequate teachers, lack of instructional materials, insufficient furniture, students seated in dilapidated school structures, complaints from teachers regarding decline in remuneration, among others.
The Nimba County Representative said there is decline in enrolment, as a result of the situation.
