Gov’t repatriates 25 trafficked Liberian Women from Oman

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has repatriated twenty-five Liberian women trafficked in the Arab State of Oman.

The Ministers of Labor and Justice, Charles Gibson and Frank Musa Dean, told a press conference Tuesday, April 5,2022, that the Liberian Government invested a little over fifty-thousand United States Dollars towards the repatriation process.

Ministers Gibson and Dean pleaded with the returnees to cooperate with the Liberian Government in whatsoever way possible, to enhance any future investigation into the matter.

They said one of the victims reported, during police investigation, that she was taken to a hospital, by her slave master in Oman, though she was not sick, put asleep and a strange operation performed on her stomach.

The two ministers said:” We are working along with the Ministry of Health to do a complete evaluation of all the victims, beginning with the woman who reported the situation.”
