MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Representative to the African Caribbean Pacific and European Union (ACP-EU) Joint Parliamentary Assembly has condemned coup d’états and all forms of unconstitutional changes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Rep. Acarous Gray said:” Liberia remains very clear and firm in its condemnation of coups, and any form of instability and unconstitutional changes.”
The statement by the Liberian Legislator is a reaffirmation of President George Weah ‘s position on the recent coup d’états across the African Continent, most especially in Sub-Saharan Africa.
It can be recalled that recently there have been seven coups and coup attempts in African nations, including Burkina Faso, Chad, Guinea, Mali, Sudan, Niger, and most recently in Guinea-Bissau, where a coup failed.
Addressing the 41st Joint ACP-EU Session in Strasbourg, France, he stressed that Liberia is uncompromising, definitive and represents the thinking and aspiration of the Liberian populace.
He maintained that Liberia, as a sovereign state, is concerned about the number of outlandish coups recently in Africa, saying whatever affects Liberia’s neighbors, directly affects the Country.
