MARYLAND COUNTY, LIBERIA-The local authorities in Maryland County have halted ongoing activities of a traditional herbalist in Fish Town, along the coast of the County.
The traditional herbalist, Tamba Bundoo, is from Lofa County.
ELBC Maryland County Correspondent said herbalist Bundoo is carrying out traditional rituals in the area by identifying individuals allegedly involved in witchcraft activities, among others.
The local authorities are quoted by our Correspondent as saying, they are not aware of the traditional herbalist presence in the county, and the act performed violates the Liberian Constitution.
However, residents in the area are calling on the local authorities to allow the traditional herbalist continue his activities.
They said the activities will clear the area of witch craft activities.
