Monrovia, June 20, 2022 – Talks for an International Exchange Program between Liberia and the United States of America have been concluded.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, Representative Crayton Duncan made the disclosure over the weekend in Monrovia.
The program has been around for decades and has benefited several Countries including the Philippines.
On the average, a total of fifty thousand Professionals are recruited to travel for work within the United States of America and within this number, Liberia as a Country holds a total of 7% totaling 3,000 persons.
According to Representative Crayton Duncan, as Chairperson of the House’s Foreign Affairs Committee, he conducted a research and established the existence of such opportunity. Representative said he has since negotiated for Liberia to finally benefit from the International-Job migration program organized by the United States.
The Sinoe County Lawmaker disclosed at the weekend that a total of 600 Liberians, are expected to be trained and migrated to the US as part of the first batch of said program.
He further mentioned that the trainers are already in the Country and a massive National recruitment exercise will begin shortly.
The program is expected to train Nurses and other Professionals as required.
He encourages Citizens across Liberia to take advantage of such opportunity to learn and return to help the Country in its rebuilding process.
Representative Crayton says it is about time leaders of the Country invest in human capacity building.
