MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia is said to be closed to reaching the seventy-percent COVID-19 vaccination target set by the World Health Organization (WHO).
That is according to Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah.
Dr. Jallah said:” Currently, Liberia’s vaccine coverage stands at fifty-four on the overall, but other countries have already achieved the seventy-percent target.”
Minister Jallah said health authorities are working hard to ensure they meet the target within the next two weeks.
She made the disclosure Monday, July 4, 2022, during the sign ing ceremony of an additional World Bank financing toward COVID-19 Emergency Response in Liberia.
The World Bank is committing nine-million USD to the COVID-19 response project.
Health Minister Wilhelmina Jallah then lauded the World Bank for its continuous support toward the health sector in Liberia.
