MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has reaffirmed his strong commitment and support to the protection of democracy in West Africa.
President Weah told the just ended ECOWAS Summit in Ghana that Liberia remains opposed to undemocratic means of cl inching state power.
The President said he has a zero tolerance for people using undemocratic means such as coups and constitutional manipulation to seize power.
Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie told reporters at the RIA yesterday, Monday, July 4, 2022; President Weah was firmed to his colleagues about Liberia’s commitment to the protection of fundamental human rights of people.
At the meeting, Guinea Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo was elected Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS, replacing Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo Addo.
Meanwhile, President George Weah is back in the Country, following a successful participation in the 61st Summit of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS.
