GRAND GEDEH COUNTY-LIBERIA-Over four-thousand women in Batterjen Mining Camp in Grand Gedeh County are worried over the lack of clinic and health facility in the area.
The area has about eight-thousand inhabitants and women and children are predominant.
The Community Chairperson, Josephine Beh, said they travel long distances seeking medical treatment, which is posing serious challenges to residents of the area.
She added that pregnant women often pay about two-thousand-five-hundred Liberian Dollars to motorcyclists to get to the nearest health facilty which is in Ziah Town.
She further named the lac k of latrines and safe drinking water as other key problems they encounter daily.
Madam Beh is also calling on Government and other philanthropic organizations to intervene into their situation.
