MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Nigerian President Mohammadu Buhari has reassured of Nigeria’s continuous support to the consolidation of peace and stability in Liberia.
President Buhari said:” Nigeria and Liberia share deep bilateral and multilateral ties both in the region and the African Continent.”
He said:” As Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria hold major Presidential elections next year, he hopes that those polls will be conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.”
He said the current Liberian Government is taking the new Liberia to greater height, despite the limited resources.
President Buhari was delivering a special remark at programs marking Liberia’s 175th Independence Day at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion in Monrovia.
Despite the gains made, President Buhari urged the Liberian Government to exert more concerted effort aimed at addressing the needs of disadvantaged youths and other social problems.
For his part, the new Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President Oumaro Sissoco Embalo of Guinea Bissau, affirmed his country and regional body’s commitment to Liberia and its people, adding that they will continue to stand with the Liberian people in pursuit of democracy and good governance.
