MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Aids Commission (NAC) has revealed that thirty-four-thousand persons are currently living with HIV/Aids in Liberia.
The NAC Authorities told ELBC Super Morning Show on Wednesday morning, September 14, 2022, that the United Nations (UN) aids spectrum estimate of 2022 puts the prevalence of the virus at 1.1 percent this year.
NAC Chairperson Theodosia Kolee said:” Twenty-thousand persons are recorded to be infected with the virus, while over nine-hundred adults died of it across the Country.”
She said the Commission is working with partners involved in HIV activities to meet the 2030 target aimed at ending the spread of the virus.
Madam Kolee assured that they are working harder to reduce new HIV infections to less than one-hundred-ninety, instead of one-thousand cases annually among others.
