MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The former head of YMCA – Liberia, Edward Gboe, is calling for a thorough review of the decentralization policy and Local Government structure.
Mr. Gboe said:” The intents of the decentralization policy and Local Government act are good, but there still exist huge capacity gaps that need to be addressed by the Central Government.
He told ELBC Wednesday, September 21, 2022, that Local Government structure lacks administrative protocols and procedures, to fast-tract development and enhance decentralization.
According to him, local governance will continue to be a challenge if those gaps are not closed to ensure attainment of public good, which is defined by the availability of basic social services.
Meanwhile, Edward Gboe who is a former Representative Candidate in District-2, in Bong County, has admitted not regretting his decision to support the CDC in 2017.
However, Mr. Gboe stated that he is holding consultations with both ruling and opposition parties, to support a Presidential candidate in the 2023 President elections.
