MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A state-of-the-art pediatric operating theatre valued three-hundred-thousand US Dollars has been dedicated at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Monrovia.
The theatre was funded by Kid O.R International and Smile Train-Africa, in collaboration with the JFK Administration.
Speaking on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the dedication ceremony, Liberia’s First Lady, Clar Marie Weah said the dedication of the theatre is a result of Government’s determination and partners to improve the health sector of Liberia.
Madam Weah said:” The opening of the theatre will now serve as the beacon of hope for people seeking quality health care services, especially Liberian children.”
The Liberian First Lady also extoled Kid O.R International, Smile Train-Africa and the JFK Administration for undertaking what she termed as a worthwhile venture.
Meanwhile, the Administrator of JFK Hospital, Jerry Brown, said the benefits of the theatre are immeasurable.
Dr. Brown said:” The theatre will fully enhance pediatric surgical interventions and provide an enabling environment for children seeking health care services there. It will also provide suitable, effective and safe treatment for Liberian children.”
Also speaking, Smile Train-Africa Senior Program Manager, Vistoria Awazi and the Data Collector of Kid O.R International, Samolyn Diggs, pledged the entity’s continued support in making health care services at JFK Hospital the best.
