MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Business Registry (LBR) is to shortly roll out a new system, to enhance freedom of information on Liberian businesses.
The system is coming into action after the LBR secured more than three-million United States Dollars from the World Bank under the Liberia Investment, Finance, and Trade (LIFT) project.
In an interview with ELBC, LBR Registrar General, Sampson Dee, said his management and World Bank actors have concluded discussions with preliminary approval, to procure the state of the art system for Liberia.
According to Mr. Dee, the system will help people swiftly register their business online, describing the move as a major reform to kickoff this December.
The LBR Registrar General said the Business Registry is in talks with Liberia’s extractive regulators and other partners to launch the beneficial ownership register, to publish records of companies online for transparency and accountability.
