GBARPOLU COUNTY, LIBERIA-President George Weah says the Liberian Government will continue to provide budgetary support to hospitals and health facilities across the Country.
President Weah said:” Constant allotment increases in operational budgets of existing hospitals demonstrate Government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery.”
Speaking on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the dedication of the Emirates Hospital in Gbarpolu County, the Liberian Leader added that provision of quality healthcare remains a key component of the Pro-Poor Agenda.
President Weah told the gathering that Government will continue to provide support to enable hospitals equip their facilities, train staff and deliver critically-needed medical services to the citizenry.
The Liberian Leader disclosed that Government is currently finalizing talks with partners in the UAE for similar facilities to be built in other parts of Liberia.
At the same time, Health Minister Wilhelmina Jallah has assured of her Ministry’s support for the newly constructed State-of-the Art Emirates Hospital in Gbarpolu County.
Dr. Jallah said:” The Ministry will deploy additional doctors and healthcare workers at the center to boost its healthcare services for both primary and long-term care.”
She noted that the Health Care Center will now control the spread of diseases and address the basic health needs of citizens.
Health Minister Jallah expressed gratitude to the Governments of Liberia and the United Arab Emirates for the facility.
Meanwhile, Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah cautioned citizens and health practitioners at the facility to take ownership and maintain it well
