MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) has outlined major achievements in the protection of refugees in the Country.
LRRRC’s Deputy Director for Operations, Aplhonso Wallace, disclosed the construction of little over one-hundred housing units each in Bahn and PTF Refugee Camps in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties.
Mr. Wallace said:” The Liberian Government and UNHCR are also providing livelihood support to Ivoirian refugees who have decided to be reintegrated into the Liberian society.”
He said a legal aid program is also being enforced to represent refugees who may have come in conflict with the Liberian law.
Mr. Wallace said most of the Ivoirian refugees opting to stay in Liberia are being granted reintegration opportunity, and disclosed that over one-thousand Liberians in Ghana have agreed to return home.
