MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chief Executive Officer of the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) has reported significant reduction in electricity losses for the last five months.
Mr. Monie Captan said:” Of the total percentage of electricity supply, 47.7 % was in losses, due to power theft.”
In an interview with ELBC on the Bumper Show on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Mr. Captan reported about 7% reduction since the launch of its robust anti-power theft campaign.
He also defended the limited load shedding measure instituted by the Corporation as necessary precaution for constant electricity supply.
According to the LEC Chief Executive Officer, since the CLSG connection and anti-power theft exercise across Monrovia, customers have increased to one-hundred-ninety-nine-thousand.
