Gov. Recommits to Enforcing Domestic Violence Act

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah says his Government will continue enforcing the Domestic Violence Act.

The Act was signed into law in 2019.

President said:” This will promote gender equality and protect women from domestic violence.”

The Liberian Leader said as Feminist-In-Chief, he remains committed in safeguarding the rights of women and girls.

The President was speaking on Monday, January 30, 2023, when he delivered the State of the Nation Address at the National Legislature.

He added that Government will do all it can to address issues of harmful traditional practices, including Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and early marriage.
