Xi Pushes Modernization and Prosperity for all Chinese

Beijing, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 – Chinese President Xi Jinping is optimistic about the Country’s goal of modernization which he believes, is tied to the common prosperity for all.

President Xi said to enhance prospect of this achievement, both state-owned and private enterprises must shoulder the social responsibility of promoting common prosperity.

Xi Jinping, also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, rallied private enterprises to ensure that all employees share their development outcomes.

He was speaking Monday when he visited National Political Advisors from the China National Democratic Construction Association and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce in Beijing.

It is part of the ongoing first session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), which, along with the National People Congress (NPC) completes the makeup of the Two Session political season.

“Private enterprises and entrepreneurs should operate in accordance with laws and regulations, and actively participate in and launch public welfare and charitable undertakings”, Xi told the gathering.

                                     How The critical fight against poverty was won.

His optimism about enhancing the quality of life and development in a modern and prosperous China, comes on the back of massive work done over the years, lifting millions of Chinese people out of poverty.

In the Work Report released by Premier Li Keqiang Sunday, the government revealed that over the last eight years, closed to 100 million poor rural residents and a total of 832 impoverished Counties were lifted out of poverty.

The above figure includes more than 9.6 million poverty-stricken people who were relocated from what the government described as inhospitable areas to more comfortable and dignified homes.

This has made Premier Li to declared that the ‘government has once and for all, resolved the problem of absolute poverty in China’.
