by Jonathan O. Grigsby, Sr

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has condemned in the strongest term the constant attacks on its officials by some students of the University of Liberia.

Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs, Jarlawah Tonpoe, says Government will not condone such attacks from students of the UL.

Speaking at the MICAT regular press briefing on Thursday, March 9, 2023, Minister Tonpoe called on the UL Administration to take the necessary action to avoid the recurrence.

He disclosed that the UL is a public learning institution as such, no one person should have absolute control over who controls over who assesses the UL.

On Monday, March 6, 2023, an employee of the Finance Ministry, Aloysius Howe, was the latest to be attacked.

Others were Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor and former Solicitor General, Cyrenius Cephas, who were attacked by group believed to be under the banner of the Student Unification Party (SUP).
