MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has congratulated the Government and people of Ireland as they observe Saint Patrick’s Day.
According to a Foreign Ministry release issued recently, President Weah stressed that as the people of Ireland commemorate the anniversary of the signing of their constitution, he is profoundly grateful for the cordial bi-lateral ties which has culminated in the establishment of the Irish Embassy near Monrovia, and the continued longstanding cordial relations subsisting between the two Governments and peoples.
In the message to his counterparts, Michael D. Higgins, President George Weah stated that as the world is going through a tumultuous period, it is his hope that Liberia and Ireland will work together to advance global peace through the based international order.
He then prayed for President Higgins’ continued good health, and peace and prosperity for the people of Ireland.
