MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Managing Director of the Liberia Medicines and Health Regulatory Authority (LMHRA) has stressed that local production of pharmaceuticals plays a vital role in maintaining the resilience of a national healthcare system.

Pharmacist Keturah Smith-Chineh said:” Local production of pharmaceuticals also helps with facilitating access to essential medicines for citizens.”

Speaking at the dedication of phase one of Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Laboratories on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, the LMHRA Managing Director stated that easy access to medication is critical to a successful healthcare system.

According to her, the Country’s porous borders situation is also giving rise to increase in substandard and falsified medicines on the market.

She congratulated Global Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Laboratories and partners for dedication and hard work, in the successful establishment of the pharmaceutical planet.

Madam Keturah Smith-Chineh said LMHRA looks forward to an ever stronger partnership in the tears ahead.
