Liberia Revenue Authority Launches Integrated Tax Administration System

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-An Integrated Tax Administration System has been launched by the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), to improve taxpayer filing and compliance ratio through domestic resource mobilization.

According to the LRA, the system is part of its digitalization strategy employed to ease tax payment, as it expands the Country’s tax net.

Launching the LITAS on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in Paynesville, LRA Commissioner General, Thomas Doe-Nah, said:” ‘Moving to billion’ dream can only be realized if tax payment services are easy and convenient.”

Commissioner Doe-Nah urged taxpayers to be patient with some of LRA’s digital systems, as it is an innovation being worked on before it gets better.

Also speaking, the Director for Arabsoft and Farsight, the system developer, Joel Gachomo, guaranteed the usage of the system, which lasted for almost a year.

Meanwhile, the Acting Finance Minister and Comptroller General, Janga Kowo, termed critical to national development, the digital revenue system being developed by the LRA.

Mr.Kowo said the Government is working towards integrating all of its processes through the Integrated Public Financial System to enhance coordination and transparency.

Mr. Kowo thanked President George Weah for exercising exceptional leadership which has seen the LRA, Ministry of Finance and other ministries and agencies of Government undertake reforms.

According to him, the new system adds to Government’s overall drive to make service delivery effective and efficient.
