Nat’l Conference on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Ends

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Conference on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) has ended in Monrovia.

The three-day SRHR Conference, organized by the Amplifying Rights Network, brought together four-hundred delegates, including Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor, adolescent boys and girls, men and women, among others.

The gathering was aimed at educating women on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

In remarks, the Chairperson of Amplifying Rights Network (ARN), a Coalition of Civil Society Organizations, Naomi Tulay Solanke, thanked the Swedish Embassy and partners for their support.

Madam Tulay Solanke urged women to take advantage of the acquired knowledge while applying it in their various communities.

Meanwhile, the UN Special Rapporteur on Rights to Health, Dr. Tee Mofokeng, explained that human rights should be accessible, and wants women’s voices heard on the issue of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.

Madam Mofokeng also called on females to be focused on defending their rights to Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights against the practices of discrimination, misconception, and attacks against them.

She praised Amplifying Rights Network for organizing such a program on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.
