MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has intensified efforts to enhance mechanized farming, with huge support from development partners.

Currently, a three-week training of Agro-Fabricators on the Fabrication of Rice and Fish Equipment is ongoing at the Central Agriculture Research Institute (CARI) in Bong County.

The training is being conducted by Africa Rice as part of the three–year DeSIRA project funded by the European Union.

Africa Rice Country Representative, Dr. Akintayo Inoussa, said: “The training seeks to improve the use of essential equipment for fish and rice harvest”.

Dr. Akintayo named parboiler, grader, and pelletizer as equipment to be used by the Agro-Fabricators to boost mechanized farming across the country.

Meanwhile, the participants have lauded Africa Rice and the European Union for training that will have a long-lasting impact on their farming activities.
