MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has described fallen Grand Bassa County District One Representative, Hans Barchue, as a great loss to the family and state.
The government’s consolation statement was contained in the remarks of Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah when he signed the Book of Condolence for fallen Representative Barchue.
Minister Kemayah performed the official ritual on behalf of President George Weah, when he led an array of Government officials on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the National Legislature on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.
The Dean of the Cabinet also expressed sadness at the death of Representative Barchue on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia.
The late Grand Bassa County Lawmaker also served as Deputy Speaker of the 53rd National Legislature from January 2012 to January 2028.
Meanwhile, the remains of fallen Gbarpolu County Senator, Daniel Naatehn, will arrive in the country today, Tuesday evening, August 15, 2023, via Brussels Airlines.
A release quotes Senate Pro-Tempt Albert Chie as calling on all Senators to be present at the Roberts International Airport to receive the body of Senator Naatehn.
Senate Secretary Nanborlor Singbeh has communicated with President George Weah, the Speaker, the Chief Justice, and Foreign Minister, about protocol befitting the arrival of the fallen statesman.
The release also quotes the Senate’s Communications as saying information concerning the fallen Senator’s funeral services will be communicated subsequently following consultations with the family.
Senator Naatehn died on August 7, 2023, in New Delhi, India, following a brief illness.
