MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Montserrado County District Seventeen Representative, Dixon Sebo, has begun the mobilization of resources and relief items to identify hundreds of people affected by flood in the district.
One person was confirmed dead by the flood with more than one-thousand-five hundred residents affected in the last few days.
Communities affected in that part of Bushrod Island include Crab Hole, Island Clinic, Weay Town, Tweh Farm, Zuma Town, and Bloween.
Representative Sebo has made some interventions, including the donation of food items and cash to the worst affected victims.
He said:” My office is currently working along with the National Disaster Management Agency and partners to ensure that those affected are provided needed relief items.”
At the same time, the Director of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) said his entity has begun the purchasing of food and non-food items for onward supply to the affected flood victims.
Mr. Reginald Nagbe named rice, toiletries, and soup kind as things that needed to be supplied urgently, putting the cost of the items to two thousand United States Dollars.
He affirmed the National Lottery’s commitment to its corporate social responsibilities to the people of Liberia.
