MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL), an oil palm company operating in the southeast, has reported a huge loss of twenty million US Dollars during its 2023 operations.
GVL attributed the loss to deplorable infrastructures in its operation counties in the Southeast and the expected amount of rainfall in 2023.
Disclosing at a news conference in Monrovia on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, GVL Vice President of Strategic and Stakeholder, Elvis Morris, said:” The Company has invested in equipment and has started road maintenance works in its operation areas.”
According to Mr. Morris, GVL Management will heighten engagement with the incoming government with proposals to improve roads and the port in Greenville, Sinoe County.
He said:” Nevertheless the loss, GVL will increase its operation and efficiency, as well as the Company’s education and other programs to improve the livelihood of people in its concession areas and the Liberian economy.”
