MONROVIA, LIBERIA-US President Joe Biden has congratulated Ambassador Joseph Boakai on his inauguration as the 26th President of Liberia.
President Biden has also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening partnerships and continuing the US Government’s support of Liberia’s development programs.
An Executive Mansion statement issued recently said the message was conveyed to President Boakai and Vice President Jeremiah Koung by former US Ambassador to Liberia Linda Thomas Greenfield on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
Former Ambassador Greenfield came to Liberia as President Biden’s Special Envoy to the Inauguration of President Joseph Boakai.
Speaking during a meeting with President Boakai, former Ambassador Greenfield said:” The United States looks forward to working with the new administration to harness the resources of Liberia for the benefit of its people.”
Meanwhile, President Boakai has assured the US Special Envoy that things will be different this time around; informing Madam Thomas Greenfield that Liberians protected their votes during the last election for change.
The Liberian Leader then vowed to implement an agenda that would bring positive change to the Country and ensure that Liberians live dignified lives.
At the same time, President Boakai has assured that his administration will continue to respect and cherish the partnership and relationship that has existed between the two traditional allies.
President Joseph Boakai then promised to work together with the United States Government for the realization of those goals, to achieve mutual benefit for both nations and peoples.
