MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Thomas Fallah, has affirmed his unwavering support to the reactivation of the WASH Legislative Caucus at the National Legislature.
WASH Legislative Caucus comprises lawmakers who are advocating for the formulation of requisite laws and financial support for the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Sector within the country.
Deputy Speaker Fallah’s comments were made Wednesday, February 14, 2024, during a meeting organized by a local WASH advocacy group, United Youth, with support from WaterAid Liberia.
The Deputy Speaker noted that the WASH sector is a key component to ensuring a healthy society, and as such, there is a need for like-minded lawmakers to collaborate in moving the sector forward.
Wednesday’s Legislative WASH meeting brought together other groupings, including the Liberia WASH Consortium, Concern Worldwide, Action Against Hunger, and WaterAid Liberia.
Speaking to reporters following the meeting, United Youth, Executive Director, Timothy Kpeh, lauded Deputy Speaker Fallah for his commitment to promoting activities of the WASH sector in Liberia.
