MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has concurred with the House of Representatives to approve forty-one million US Dollars for salaries and other operations of the Liberian Government.
Thursday’s decision by the Liberian Senate followed the unanimous approval of the amount by the House of Representatives on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in plenary.
The Director of Press at the Liberian Senate, Alfred Johnson, told ELBC that twenty senators voted to approve the money, while eight abstained and two voted against it.
Mr. Johnson said:” Following the reading of the President’s request, the Senate Committee Chair on Ways, Means, and Finance, Senator Prince Moye, advised plenary to approve the money.”
Meanwhile, the Director of Press at the Liberian Senate disclosed the confirmation of several officials of the Liberian Government, including the Minister of Labor, Cooper Kruah, Minister of Transport, Sirleaf Tyler, and Monrovia City Mayor, John Siafa, among others.
