MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) has hailed Liberia’s commitment to democratic consolidation.
EISA said:” The recent elections in Liberia were marked by adequate preparations by the National Elections Commission (NEC) and Liberia National Police (LNP).”
The Group named respect and tolerance among competing political parties, and continuous monitoring and support from domestic and international observer groups as efforts to strengthen the Country’s democracy.
It said the By-elections in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties were an affirmation of the strength of democratic institutions in Liberia.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa is urging the National Elections Commission to sustain the use of Community-Based Organizations as CVE Cells, ensure prompt payment for their services, and build their capacity.
