MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Agriculture has begun the first leg nationwide assessment tour in Northern-Central Liberia, beginning with Lofa County.
The tour is aimed at gathering firsthand information from farmers across the country on their needs and challenges to form short-term technical and policy interventions.
According to a release issued recently, Agriculture Minister Alexander Nuetah, accompanied by FAO Country Representative to Liberia, Bintia Stephen Tchicaya, visited several farms and held a series of engagements with local farmers from cooperative groups in Foya and Voinjama Districts.
During the engagement forums, Dr. Nuetah announced critical initiatives by the Ministry of Agriculture, including improved farming techniques, provision of an improved variety of seeds, and financial assistance, among others.
As part of the first leg of the tour, the Agriculture Minister will also visit Nimba, Bong, and Margibi Counties to meet with stakeholders in the Country’s Agriculture Sector.
