MONROVIA, LIBERIA-ECOWAS Ambassador to Liberia, Josephine Nkrumah, has pledged the regional body’s commitment to the advancement of Liberia’s Business Sector.
Ambassador Nkrumah said:” ECOWAS remains supportive of Liberia at all levels, including the promotion of a healthy and fair business environment.”
She made the commitment on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the start of a three-day ECOWAS Regional Competition Workshop currently taking place in Monrovia.
The ECOWAS Envoy said:” The formulation of the framework policy will help eliminate anti-competitive practices in Liberia, and ensure full implementation of the Regional Competition Rules.”
Ambassador Josephine Nkrumah praised President Joseph Boakai for his continued efforts towards regional integration.
Meanwhile, ECOWAS Competition Authority Executive Director, Dr. Simeon Kofi, said:” The engagement will lead to the drafting of policy framework to forge a better business environment.”
Dr. Kofi also called on stakeholders to join efforts with the regional body in achieving the initiative.
He disclosed that the policy document will serve as a pathway to boost Liberia’s economy to international best practices.
Dr. Simeon Kofi, however, extolled the Government of Liberia, especially the Ministry of Commerce, for gains made over the years in the Country’s Business Sector.
