MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s United Methodist Church Head Bishop, Samuel Quire, has clarified that at no point in time did the Church agree to practice same-sex marriage.
Bishop Quire’s clarification comes amid widespread speculations that the Church recently agreed to carry out same-sex marriage during its annual conference in the United States.
But, speaking on Friday, June 7, 2024, at a news conference in Monrovia, Bishop Quire, described the report as untrue and only intended to undermine the Church’s doctrine.
According to him, the United Methodist Church was established with Christian doctrines to win souls for God, and not undermine such principles.
Meanwhile, Bishop Quire is cautioning those spreading hate messages about the United Methodist Church to desist.
