MONROVIA, LIBERIA-ECOWAS, and the African Union have endorsed the candidacy of Liberia for a Non-Permanent Seat on the UN Security Council.
The disclosure was made on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, by Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti at a MICAT Press Briefing in Monrovia.
Minister Nyanti said:” The UN Security Non-Permanent Campaign Steering Committee has announced that it will begin in September, this year.”
The Liberian Foreign Minister noted that the campaign will focus on promoting international peace, security, and cooperation.
Minister Nyanti also said:” The Committee seeks to engage member states through diplomatic efforts, highlighting the candidate’s commitment to upholding the UN principles and addressing global challenges collaboratively.”
