MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Charge d’affaires at the United States Embassy says Liberia is making steady progress in its efforts to address corruption, institute accountability, improve education, and foster economic development.
Madam Catherine Rodriguez, however, said:” It would require the full participation of every Liberian to achieve such a goal.”
Madam Rodriguez was speaking on Thursday evening, June 27, 2024, at a program marking the 248th Independence Day celebration of the US at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
She said:” The United States will stand with Liberia as a strategic partner in its effort to form a more perfect union for all of its citizens.
According to her, the peaceful 2023 general and Presidential Elections and transfer of power signify Liberia’s commitment to democracy.
Speaking also, President Joseph Boakai lauded the Government and people of the United States for accepting a new chapter in the Liberia-US Relationship.
President Boakai said:” The coming in of his administration has created a golden opportunity for both countries for which I remain grateful.”
The Liberian Leader assured of a few eras of productive, mutually beneficial relationships with the United States during the celebration of its 248th Independence Day.
He promised that the new bond of friendship between Liberia and the United States would be based on sincerity, honesty, accountability, and transparency.
