MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Minister of Labor, Cllr. Cooper Kruah, says the Ministry has raised over three million US Dollars as revenue intake for the Liberian Government under his stewardship.
Minister Kruah said:” The Ministry generated the money between January and June from concession companies, including the renewal and obtainment of work permits by aliens.”
He said the move is to facilitate the efforts of the Government in raising the needed revenue to support its development agenda.
Speaking to ELBC Reporter over the weekend in Congo Town, the Labor Minister also admonished aliens to comply with the Ministry’s regulations.
Labor Minister Cllr. Cooper Kruah warned that any alien caught violating the Ministry’s permit regulations will be fined not less than one thousand US Dollars.
Meanwhile, the Labor Boss has dismissed media reports linking him to working for the Henries and Kruah’s Law Firm.
Front Page Africa, in its Thursday publication, alleged that Minister Kruah works for the law firm that receives fifty-three thousand US Dollars from the National Port Authority for legal services rendered.
But Minister Kruah told the BBC over the weekend that the report is untrue and only intended to besmear his reputation, and also clarified that Henries Law Firm was established in 1944 by the late former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Richard Henries, and later transferred to his son George Henries.
The Labor Minister also disclosed that he joined the law firm in 1985, along with other lawyers as a partnership between the Henries and Kruah Families, with his son and brother serving as lawyers of the entity.
