MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Investment Commission (NIC), in collaboration with Nobel Africa Investment, is hosting the first 2024 Liberia Investment Development and Multi-National Sector Ministerial Conference today, Monday, September 5, 2024, in Monrovia.
The Conference is aimed at fostering economic growth, creating an operative platform to attract foreign investment, and showcasing Liberia’s economic potential.
The gathering brings together stakeholders from the Public and Private Sectors, among others, to discuss the investment climate of the Country.
The Conference runs from Monday to Wednesday, August 8, and is being held at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
In Another development, a week-long orientation conference for all local governance structures gets underway today, Monday, in Ganta, Nimba County.
Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin said:” The event is to empower members of the Local Government structures with the requisite knowledge for service delivery in line with the Local Government Act of 2018.”
Minister Nyumalin said it is also aimed at broadening their understanding of the Act and other decentralization reforms, including the revenue-sharing law.
He disclosed that the Conference will also be holding elections for Chairpersons of the Country Council of Chiefs, the National Superintendent Council, and the City Mayor-Council.
Minister Francis Nyumalin further said that induction for elected officials of the three councils will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Monrovia.
