MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The President of the ECOWAS Commission has reaffirmed the Regional Bloc’s commitment to supporting Liberia’s growth and development.
Mr. Alieu Omar Touray believes that such support is pivotal to sustaining the country’s peace and security.
The ECOWAS Envoy lauded the Government of Liberia for the strides made in building a resilient and inclusive society where the views of citizens are respected.
He made the statement on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the end of a meeting held between the ECOWAS Commission and President Joseph Boakai in Monrovia.
Meanwhile, Mr. Alieu Omar Touray also dispelled rumors about being in the country to investigate allegations made by former President George Weah against the Government of Liberia as being speculated in the media.
At the same time, the Government has assured the ECOWAS Commission of its stance on the sustenance of the country’s peace and security.
According to Presidential Press Security Kula Fofana, the Government will continue to ensure that the rights of every Liberian is protected and respected.
Madam Fofana underscored the Government’s preparedness to work along with all political institutions in the best interest of the country’s growth and development.
She re-echoed President Boakai’s desire to elevate the standards of living and restore Liberia’s dignity among the Comity of Nations.
