MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Deputy Police Inspector General for Administrative, Col. William Mulbah, has emphasized the importance of investigating various forms of SGBV cases across the country.
Col. Mulbah referred to social, economic, domestic violence, and sexual harassment as some cases that need serious attention.
The Deputy Police Inspector General made the remarks at the official opening of a two-week intensive SGBV Training for Police officers in Congo Town.
Col. Mulbah urged the participants to integrate the knowledge and skills gained from the training into their workforce.
The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centers organize the two-week SGBV training.
Meanwhile, a Representative of the Commandant of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center, Frank Kusi-Darko, wants more support for survivors and victims of Sexual Gender-based violence in Liberia.
Mr. Darko said survivors of sexual and gender-based violence often suffer longstanding psychological and physical harm due to the severity of the violence.
Mr. Darko spoke at the opening of a two-week intensive SGBV Training for LNP officers, organized by the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center.
He said the Center has over the years, enhanced and continues to develop the capacity of trainees to respond to complex peace and security challenges across Africa and beyond.
Mr. Darko noted that the Center prioritizes equipping police officers with the requisite knowledge to operate effectively in their respective Countries.
