MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has announced preparations for active participation in Expo 2025 scheduled to be held in Osaka, Japan.
According to a Foreign Ministry release issued recently, the global event presents a great opportunity for Liberia to showcase its products and investment potential on the world stage.
Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations, Karishma Pelham-Raad, has been designated as the focal person for the Foreign Ministry for Liberia’s participation in the World Expo 2025-Japan.
The release noted that Expo 2025 will be an essential component of the Foreign Ministry’s broader strategy to promote economic diplomacy, which is a critical pillar of the ARREST Agenda.
Minister Pelham-Raad will work closely with former Culture Ambassador Julie Endee, who is the Current Commissioner General for Liberia to the World Expo and an elected official for the World Expo Steering Committee.
At the same time, Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow-Nyanti, says Liberia’s participation in Expo 2025 demonstrates the Country’s commitment to playing a proactive role in the international community.
Minister Nyanti emphasized that Expo 2025 is a part of the Country’s broader efforts to rebrand itself and highlight the unique opportunities for trade and investment.
The Dean of the Cabinet noted that the upcoming Expo will build upon the existing legacy, with a renewed focus on economic diplomacy.
Meanwhile, Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations Pelham-Raad has been tasked to collaborate with the National Investment Commission and Commerce Ministry for the successful establishment of Liberia’s booth at the Expo.
The booth will feature a diverse range of products, highlighting the Country’s rich resources, craftsmanship, and innovative capabilities.
