Info. Minister Piah Rules Out Political Interference with Anti-graft Institutions’ Functions

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah has ruled out political interference with the functions of anti-graft institutions, amid widespread sentiments.

Minister Piah indicated that Anti-graft institutions in the Country are carrying out the various functions independently without the interference of the Liberian Government.

He, however, said the government will provide the support needed to state institutions to make them effective.

Addressing the MICAT Regular Press Briefing on Thursday, August 29, 2024, in Monrovia,  Minister Piah said:” The Government is pleased with the move of the former Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill, to withdraw his Writ of Prohibition from the Supreme Court of Liberia.”

The Information Minister noted that the former Minister of State should cooperate with the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission in the ongoing investigation.
