INDONESIA-President Joseph Boakai and his Indonesian counterpart, Joko Widodo, have reaffirmed their commitment to renewing an eleven-year joint commission strengthening ties between their two nations.
President Boakai said:” The Joint Commission will serve as a catalyst through which the government and private sector of Indonesia will support the ARREST Agenda.”
President Boakai told the Indonesian Leader that he came to the Liberian Presidency to reemphasize Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, Tourism, and Technology with which Indonesia is endowed.
The Liberian Leader made the statement on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Indonesia-Africa Conference in Bali.
On the last day of his engagements in Bali, President Boakai held a closed-door meeting with the Chairman of Golden Veroleum for the Company to increase its investments in Liberia, by adding value to oil palm production and providing more jobs for Liberians.
At the same time, Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow-Nyanti, has joined a host of other African Foreign Ministers to participate in the ninth (9th) Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, China.
The Conference is being chaired by the Foreign Minister of China, WANG Ye.
Foreign Minister Nyanti is accompanied by Liberia’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Amin Modad.
The Ministerial Conference aims to deepen diplomatic ties between China and African Countries.
The African Foreign Ministers are also pitching development proposals for potential Chinese assistance.
Liberia’s President Joseph Boakai is due to arrive in China on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, for the Heads of State Meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
President Boakai will also hold a tete-a-tete with President Xi at the FOCAC Summit in Beijing.
