Finance Minister Designate Ngafuan Faces Senate Confirmation Hearing Today

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Finance Minister Designate Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan is expected Thursday to face the Senate Confirmation Hearing.

The Hearing was announced by the Senate Committee on Ways, Means, Finance, and Budget, on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

The former Finance will be examined by members of the Committee on his vision and strategies to drive and manage the Country’s economy.

A release issued recently quotes the Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways, Means, and Finance, Prince Moye, as urging the public to form part of the confirmation proceedings to post inquiries and questions through members of the Committee.

The former Finance Minister was lately nominated by President Joseph Boakai, following the resignation of Finance Minister Boima Kamara.

This will mark Mr. Augustine Ngafuan’s second time at the Ministry of Finance, if confirmed by the Senate, having previously served the post from 2008 to 2012.
