MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has lauded the newly strengthened Partnership between China and Africa.
Mr. Guterres believes that such an enhanced Partnership can spark new momentum for development on the Continent.
He also drew the assembled leaders’ attention to rising geopolitical tensions, raging conflicts, and growing poverty and hunger on the African Continent and elsewhere.
The UN Chief pointed to current conflicts in Sudan, Ukraine, and Gaza, as well as the worsening climate crisis as threats to global and African efforts in achieving sustainable development.
The UN Secretary-General spoke on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in Beijing, when he delivered a special remark at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit.
