KAKATA, MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) is seeking broader consultations with authorities in Kakata, Margibi County, to address the issue of encroachment on the Army’s property in the city.
Dozens of people in Kakata City have reportedly encroached on the AFL’s land in the Doe Palace Community.
According to ELBC Correspondent, it followed a recent tour of the property by Deputy Chief of Staff, Theophilus Dana.
Deputy Chief of Staff Dana said:” The consultations will include the County’s Land Commissioner and alleged land dealers, and others.”
He, however, requested squatters on the land to vacate or negotiate with authorities of the AFL.
Meanwhile, citizens of the County are calling on the Government of Liberia, through the Liberia Land Authority, to institute measures to curb the illegal sale of land across the Country.
