MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) has begun a three-day paramilitary drill in Monrovia.
The exercise, which includes other security agencies, is aimed at enhancing collaboration and strengthening the capabilities of the Joint Security for future security unrest.
The exercise, known as ‘Watch Over Seven’, is also aimed at portraying the readiness of the AFL in curbing hostile security situations that may overwhelm the Liberia National Police (LNP) and other security agencies.
The AFL is, meanwhile, urging the public not to panic from the exercise as live ammunitions are being used during the training.
The paramilitary drill began on Monday, October 21, 2024, in Paynesville City with the exhibit of mock protests, and the AFL is, at the same time, reassuring the citizens that it will remain professional and a force for good.
The Army wants residents to remain calm during the drill, emphasizing that there is no cause for alarm.
